Understanding Video Question

As a hiring manager or recruiter, it's important to have a clear understanding of the various question types available to assess candidates and make informed hiring decisions. One such question type is the video question.

At WeCP, a video question is a question-type feature that allows hiring managers and recruiters to pick up on behavioral signals in candidates through recorded video responses.

Candidates are given a question to answer, and they are required to record their answer within a maximum of 2 minutes. The question can be as simple as "Explain the approach you took to solve a certain question".

The use of video questions in the recruitment process can have several benefits. For one, it helps to reduce the drop-off rate between online assessments and in-person interviews. This is because video questions allow candidates to showcase their communication skills and personality, which can't be captured in a written response.

Another benefit of video questions is that they can help to save time for interviewers. Instead of having to spend time meeting with each candidate in person, interviewers can watch the video responses and get a sense of the candidate's communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and other key traits.

When using video questions in the recruitment process, it's important to keep a few key best practices in mind.

First, it's essential to provide clear instructions to the candidate on how to record and submit their video response.
Second, it's important to make sure that the questions are relevant and fair, and that they align with the job requirements.

To. add a Video Question in WeCP you can follow the below Step-by-Step Guide:

Log in to your WeCP account and navigate to the "Questions" section.
Click on the "Create Question" button, located in the top-right corner of the screen.
In the question creation interface, select "Video Question" from the question type options.
Add a detailed and clear question description, including any instructions or requirements for the candidate's response. This will help to ensure that the candidate knows exactly what is expected of them.
In the settings section, you can set the time limit for the video response (maximum 2 mins), required or not, and you can also set the marks.
Save the question by clicking the "Save" button.
Now, you can add the video question to an assessment by going to the assessments section and adding the question to the assessment.
When the candidate takes the assessment, they will be prompted to record their video response.
After the candidate completes the assessment, the video question will be included in the assessment results and will be available for you to review.
This question can be manually graded by a user or can be graded by an AI; which can be done from the assessment dashboard once candidates have submitted their assessment.
