How to Enable your Camera for a Video Proctored Test

Starting Your WeCP Test

When taking a video-proctored test, you will need to enable WeCP to access your camera. 

1.  You need to enable permissions on your browser to allow WeCP to access your device's camera for a video-proctored test. 

2. When your camera is successfully enabled, you will be able to verify your identity by using the webcam to take a photo and proceed to the test questions.

Troubleshooting

Google Chrome

1. In Chrome, a pop-up notification will appear on the Address bar in the browser window requesting permission. Click Allow. 

   

2. Alternatively, a camera icon with a red icon will appear in the browser's address bar. Click on this icon to expand the permissions options. 

   

3. Select the activate option, Always allow https://assess.wecreateproblems.com to access your camera. Click Done to save your changes.

Mozilla Firefox

1. In Firefox, a pop-up notification will appear on the Address bar in the browser window requesting permission.

   

2. Select the option, Remember this decision. Click Allow to save your changes.

3. Alternatively, a blocked camera icon will in the Address bar. Click on this icon to expand the permissions options.

   

4. Click on the Blocked option to permit access. The browser may need to be restarted if the camera is still disabled.

Apple Safari

1. In Safari, a pop-up notification will appear prompting you to change the permissions for WeCP.

2. Click Allow to activate the camera.

   

3. If the pop-up does not automatically appear, click on Safari under the Menu bar and open Preferences (⌘ + ,).

   

4. Select the Websites option and in the left panel for Currently Open Websites, ensure the option Allow is set for assess.wecreateproblems.com, and reload the web page.

Troubleshooting

If the camera is still not enabled, close all multiple tabs and/or browsers, restart the browser, and load the WeCP test page. Read more on Recommended browsers for tests.

Important: Ensure that your hardware is intact and functional. The easiest way to check is to go to the Google Meet website and start a meeting with your camera-enabled. If you can see your image in the browser meeting, your camera is perfectly functional!
