July'25 update: Introducing Incognito Mode

At Sherlock, we’re building technology that ensures interviews remain secure, transparent, and fair. With our July release, we’re introducing Incognito Mode, a major step forward in how we handle data control, privacy, and permissions.

🔒 Data Control: Your Data Stays With You

We’ve redefined where candidate data lives.

  • All interviewee data - including video, audio, and screen activity - stays on the candidate’s own system.

  • Sherlock does not store or upload anything by default.

  • Data only leaves the device if and when the candidate or interviewer explicitly chooses to share it.

This means candidates remain in full control of their information at every step.

🛡️ Data Privacy: Clear, Transparent Recording

Recording during interviews is now even more transparent.

  • Sherlock only records video, audio, or screen when the interviewer chooses to record.

  • A recording indicator is always visible, so candidates know exactly when a recording is happening.

  • Even when recording is active, the data remains stored on the candidate’s system unless shared.

Transparency is built into the workflow so there are no surprises.

✅ Data Permissions: Minimal & Purpose-Driven

Sherlock requests only the permissions needed to function effectively:

  • Camera and microphone access for video and audio interviews.

  • Screen access if the interviewer explicitly initiates screen sharing or recording.

No hidden permissions, no unnecessary data collection.

Why It Matters

With Incognito Mode, Sherlock is setting a new standard for integrity in AI-powered interviewing:

  • Nothing leaves the candidate’s device without consent.

  • Recordings are always visible, never hidden.

  • Permissions are explicit, minimal, and transparent.

This isn’t just compliance - it’s about building trust with candidates and interviewers alike.
