At WeCP, test integrity is our highest priority. Customers often ask how they can prevent candidates from passing control of their test screen to someone else or using screen sharing during an exam.
Below are two approaches you can use depending on the level of protection you want:
Approach 1:
Basic Security Settings
This approach uses in-built integrity features in WeCP to prevent unauthorized screen activity.
Enable Full Screen Recording
Go to Test → Integrity Settings.
Turn on Whole Screen Recording and Full Screen Mode.
This ensures the entire screen is captured, so if a candidate attempts to share their screen, you’ll see it in the playback.
Turn On Multi-Screen Detection
Approach 2:
Advanced Protection with Sherlock (Recommended)
For the highest level of protection, we recommend using Sherlock, WeCP’s advanced AI-powered proctoring agent.
Go to Integrity Settings and enable Sherlock.
Sherlock monitors and analyzes forensic signals such as:
Screen sharing attempts
Remote access tools
Suspicious activities like window switching or unauthorized applications
If Sherlock detects an attempt to pass control to a remote member (e.g using tools like Anydesk etc), it immediately flags or blocks the activity, protecting the integrity of your assessments.
Why This Matters
Screen Sharing: Without blocking, a candidate could share their screen via external tools (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom, Anydesk) to get real-time help.
Remote Control: Some collaboration tools allow a remote person to take control of the candidate’s machine - this is a critical risk in high-stakes tests.
WeCP’s combination of screen recording, multi-screen detection, and Sherlock ensures these risks are fully mitigated.
✅ Recommendation: Use Approach 2 with Sherlock for high-stakes exams and compliance-sensitive assessments. Approach 1 is useful for general hiring tests where a lighter proctoring experience is acceptable.
