Beta Feature: This detection is currently in beta and may evolve over time.

What’s New:

  • Earlier: Scripted or read-aloud answers in video questions were difficult to detect.

  • Now: The system highlights potential screen-reading or scripted behavior, especially in speaking and communication-focused questions.

How It Works:

  1. During a video or speaking assessment, the system monitors candidate behavior for patterns indicative of reading from a script or screen.

  2. Detected instances are flagged and summarized in the proctoring report.

  3. Recruiters can view these highlights alongside other proctoring signals such as tab changes, suspicious activity, and attention metrics.

Why It Helps:

  • Ensures recruiters can differentiate between genuine communication skills and rehearsed answers.

  • Supports fairer evaluation of candidates’ soft skills.

  • Reduces the risk of overestimating a candidate’s ability based on memorized or pre-scripted responses.

Where to Find the Feature in Reports:

  • Access the candidate’s video assessment report.

  • Look for the section titled “Scripted Speech Detected”.

Best Practices for Recruiters:

  • Review flagged moments in conjunction with other proctoring signals.

  • Use your judgment—some flagged behaviors may be minor or coincidental.

  • Consider providing feedback to candidates if scripted answers are suspected to help improve future assessments.

Next Steps:

  • Include this feature in your evaluation workflow to ensure accurate assessment of communication and soft skills.

  • Stay updated as detection algorithms improve over time.
