When candidates encounter a video question in an assessment, they can record their response within the configured time limit.

Each video question allows up to two recording attempts. Candidates may re-record their response once before submitting their final answer.

This ensures candidates are evaluated on their communication and thought process, without being penalized for accidental interruptions or technical issues.

Benefits of Using Video Questions

  • Reduces drop-offs between assessments and interviews

  • Helps candidates express personality and communication style

  • Saves interviewer time by enabling asynchronous evaluation

  • Provides richer context than text-based answers alone

Best Practices for Video Questions

  1. Provide clear instructions
Explain what the candidate should cover and how long they should speak.

  2. Keep questions relevant and role-specific
Video questions work best for behavioral, situational, or explanatory prompts.

  3. Set reasonable time limits
Responses can be configured between 1 to 5 minutes, depending on complexity.

Reviewing and Grading Responses

  • Video responses appear in the assessment results

  • These questions require manual grading

  • Evaluators can review recordings directly from the assessment dashboard
