As announced four months ago, WeCP is deprecating the Playback feature in favor of the more advanced Whole Screen Recording. This update enhances the effectiveness of test monitoring, providing a real-time recording of the candidate’s entire screen, rather than relying on the previous playback method which was limited and less efficient.

Why the Change?

The older Playback feature used a method where multiple images were stitched together to form a video of the candidate’s activity during the test. While this allowed for basic monitoring, it had significant limitations:

  • It captured only the test window, leaving gaps in visibility.

  • It lacked real-time streaming, leading to potential delays and incomplete recordings.

  • It was less effective for auditing candidate activities, such as identifying instances of cheating or monitoring the candidate's environment.

Introducing Whole Screen Recording

With Whole Screen Recording, you will now get:

  1. Real-Time Streaming: Unlike the previous system, Whole Screen Recording captures a real-time, continuous video stream of the candidate's entire screen.

  2. Complete Visibility: You can now see everything the candidate is doing on their computer during the test, not just the test window. This provides a much clearer picture of their activities.

  3. Audio Capture (optional): The new system can also capture audio, adding another layer of insight into the candidate’s test environment.

  4. Improved Auditing: Test administrators can now review the entire session with full transparency, quickly addressing any issues or concerns. For example, if a candidate claims the system unfairly flagged them, the recorded video and audio can provide concrete evidence.

Benefits of Whole Screen Recording:

  • Cheating Deterrent: Candidates are now required to share their entire screen during the test, which increases transparency and deters cheating.

  • Real-Time Insights: The real-time playback ensures that any suspicious behavior or technical issues are immediately visible.

  • Enhanced Auditing: Test audits are now far more reliable and efficient, making it easier to resolve disputes or investigate irregularities during a candidate's test session.

How to access

Whole Screen Recording is available as an add-on for your existing WeCP subscription. It offers significantly improved monitoring capabilities, making it easier to maintain the integrity of your tests.
