This release focuses on updates for Session Recordings for Campus Scenarios, optimisations in Video Questions and Test Creation Experience, and improvements in managing your WeCP Subscriptions.

Improved support for Session Recordings for Campus Scenarios

We’ve updated session recordings, specifically for campus hiring scenarios. In many campuses, candidates may use systems that lack audio devices, causing failures in system checks for assessments that require full-screen recording with audio. This has been a challenge faced by customers who go to such campuses.

With this improvement, when the setting is enabled in the Proctoring Settings, the system will bypass the audio device check during the initial system check. Even without audio input, the session will still be recorded, capturing the candidate’s screen and visual activity throughout the assessment.

This feature is designed to streamline campus hiring at scale, making it easier for institutions to conduct assessments without technical interruptions.

Now reach out to WeCP whenever you need custom questions created

We’ve made it easier for our customers to request custom questions directly from the question library. If you’re searching for a specific type of question and don’t find relevant results in our Verified Library, there’s now a default option that allows you to reach out to WeCP. With this, we’ll take care of creating custom questions tailored to your needs.

Our estimated ETA is between 6 - 48 hours to get you these custom questions.

Added support to update billing information

Managing billing information just got easier. Previously, once users made a payment, there was no way to update billing details such as address or card information on the platform.

Now, when a user upgrades to the Premium or Enterprise plan, users will find an option called ‘Manage Subscription,’ and clicking on it will redirect users to Stripe’s portal, where they can update all billing-related information.

You can access 'Manage Subscription' from Settings > Subscription & Credits.

Optimisations in Video Question Submission uploads

To ensure higher reliability and availability of the submissions by candidates in Video Questions specifically, over the last 1 month we've been experimenting with ways to optimise the upload process which has been affected either because of bandwidth or lack of resources.

We've released some major optimisations for this, which should considerably lower the error cases moving forward.

Things we've worked on:

  1. Video storage: If a video fails to upload, it will now be stored locally in an indexed DB.

  2. Automatic re-upload: The system will periodically check and automatically attempt to re-upload any failed video submissions.

  3. Bandwidth optimization: Rather than uploading the entire video at once, we will now be uploading chunks of the candidate submissions.

Question Gist

A key challenge while multiple stakeholders are involved in designing an assessment, is the difficulty in understanding the context and relevance of questions, especially after they are passed from one person to another.

To solve this, we’ve introduced Question Gist—an AI-generated summary that appears directly within the test editor. This summary provides a concise explanation of the question's intent, relevance, and alignment with the job role requirements, making it easier for any user involved in the assessment creation process to quickly grasp its significance.

This feature is now available for all WeCP and user-created questions and will be enabled by default for all Free, Premium and Enterprise customers for no additional costs.

[Important] Updates to WeCP's Credit Consumption Metrics

For all accounts created from the 1st October of 2024, the new credit consumption methodology will be in effect based on the type of assessments created.

For existing customers, your dedicated CSM will soon reach out to you, and help you have a smoother transition as we move to a completely credit-based consumption framework.

Fixed laggy Create Test form

We've noticed a few customers reporting that the modal asking for the name and the group for a newly created test is laggy and takes time to enter the name.

We've made optimisations for this, and the lagginess should be solved from here on.


Internal Improvements

  • All toast notifications in the test surface have been migrated to our updated design system.

  • We've improved pagination on the question library by using an on-demand, "Load Questions' button rather than having users go through multiple pages.

  • All transactions happening with USD as currency, will now be routed to WeCP's US Entity's Stripe account. All transactions made in INR will have no change.
